Dinsmore added a Chicago office in 2014 when it joined with Peck, Shaffer & Williams. As the third largest city in America and a key economic hub for the State of Illinois, the Midwestern region and the rest of the nation, Chicago was a natural choice for the firm's growth. Recognizing most of the national leaders in investment banking for public finance, and the three major rating agencies, have regional offices in Chicago, Peck Shaffer originally opened its Chicago office in 2001.
Today, the office offers a wide range of legal services including litigation; corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions; financial regulatory compliance; real estate; construction; taxation; labor, employment and benefits; and intellectual property.
In addition to its status as a financial and economic core, Chicago is home to a number of cultural icons, including the Willis Tower (formerly known as the Sears Tower), Chicago Theater and Wrigley Field, which serves as home to the Chicago Cubs baseball team, one of the city’s five major professional sports teams. The city is also home to number of prominent colleges and universities, including the University of Chicago, Northwestern University and DePaul University. It is the third-largest media market in the U.S.
